#CakeMixing & #ChampagneTower @ #TheSonnet, #KolkataTerrace, #India😊 . β€œHistory of the cake-mixing ceremony dates back to the 17th century, when it marked the arrival of the harvest season. During this time lots of fruits and nuts were harvested and prepared to go into the making of the traditional #plumcake.” . Check out my latest blog post covering the joyous Cake Mixing Ceremony at The Sonnet with open air ambiance, good skyline view, early winter chill and beautiful surrounding greenery ... . Got These Fluffy, Layered and Jumbo Sized !Breads from #Samarkand in #Uzbekistan 😊 . Around 2 months back, during my visit to Uzbekistan, I happened to travel from Samarkand to Tashkent in the famous #Afrosiyab high-speed train aka #bullettrain. . The Afrosiyob is the fastest train in Uzbekistan, with a speed of up to 210 km/hr! . While waiting for the train at #SamarkandRailwayStation, I spotted a bakery counter filled with 3-4 types of king sized circular local breads. . One of them particularly called out to me because of it's beautiful layering and sponge. After confirming multiple times (because of the language problem) that it is devoid of any meat, I ended up buying 2 pieces of this bread. . Once back in India, we sliced these circular breads into pizza like slices and paired them with our morning and evening teas. A single bread yielded around 12 such slices. . As displayed in the pic, during one of our #breakfasts, we paired these bread slices with - #sprouts topped with chopped onion and tomato, #peas topped with cream and #bhujia and piping hot cups of ginger #tea aka adrak wali #chai. . The bread was devoid of any sugar and quite filling. It tasted good with butter, as well as, without it. . We took around 4 days in consuming both the breads. Though we kept them in air tight containers and not the refrigerator, still they were quite fresh till the end. . Cost of each bread: $2 . #vegfoodandreviews #vfr407 #pritypoddar #SamarkandRailwayStation #uzbekbread #FLODeligationToUzbekistan #indianfoodblogger #instadaily #instafood #instalike
Value For Money #Mealboxes @ #Homely, #Kolkata 😊 . Homely is the #cloudkitchen based #fooddelivery service by #Swiggy with the taglines - . "Simple home-styled food delivered with love. Daily changing menu options starting at Rs. 99!" . To try this service, we order the following #vegetarian '#homelyCombos' via Swiggy - . - #AlooDum, #CholarDal & #Rotis or Rice (Rs. 99/-): It was basically Bengali home food enriched with the aromas of onion and garlic. We opted for the 3 Rotis instead of Rice and customized them into #MethiRotis for which we were charged an extra of Rs. 10/- per mealbox. . Both the Dal and Sabji tasted good. The Rotis were average with scant presence of Methi leaves infused within them. . - Homestyle #PaneerMasala, Homestyle #AmritsariDal & Rotis or Rice (Rs. 139/-): Surprisingly the normal Rotis herein were better cooked and tastier than the aforementioned Methi Rotis. The Paneer preparation was too oily and there was nothing homely about it. The Dal was OK. . We also added Sliced #Tomato and #Cucumber with this mealbox for which we were charged an extra of Rs. 29/-. The Salad was fresh and nice. . Though we did mention 'no onion and no garlic' in the suggestion box of our Swiggy order, neither any heed was paid to this request, nor any communication regarding the same was initiated by Homely. . However, upon informing the same, the customer care representatives at Swiggy chat were prompt in their response and also apologized for the same. . We were as such not seeking any apology, as we often use Swiggy food service and mostly it has served us well. We just wanted to inform the concerned department, so that they could fine tune their operations. . #vegfoodandreviews #vfr406 #pritypoddar #SwiggyIndia #instafood #instadaily #instalike #indianfoodblogger #indianfoodiye #foodpost
#Vegetarian Winter Lunch 😊 . Meals comprising of thick circular crisp #BajreKiRotis made with freshly made dough and smeared with #desighee are something that we look forward to each winter. . As per celebrity fitness expert #RujutaDiwekar, #Bajra or #PearlMillet "is mainly made of starch, a high #energyfood. Since starch takes longer to break down in your stomach, bajra is a long acting source of energy, that will keep you full for a longer time. It will keep you warm and help you beat winter chills." . Today, for lunch, we had yummy Bajre Ki Rotis with piping hot #DalPalak, #AlooGajar Ki Sabji and some desi style raw #Salad. The pulse used in Dal-Palak was Chane Ki Dal aka #YellowSplitPeas. The Salad comprised of #tomato, #cucumber, #carrot and #onion. . Apt for the ongoing early winters, it was a lovely, blissful and filling meal. . #vegfoodandreviews #vfr405 #pritypoddar #homemadefood #glutenfree #vegetarianblogger #winterfood #homecooking #instafood #instalike #instafollow #instagood
